My passion for people, higher education and student leadership has brought me here. My name is Mike Pond and I am your Vice President for Student Life. I am in my second year at Western and fourth year of college, studying Communication and Sociology. Spending last year as a Resident Advisor up on the Ridge, I know what it takes to build community. I am excited to fight for your financial rights, programs, resources and needs. It is my belief that our education is about more than what comes from the classroom. The life skills you learn by living with a roommate in the residence halls, participating in the Eco Challenge and navigating your way around town on a public transit system are all vital to a holistic educational Western experience. Dive in head first; I encourage everyone to take full advantage of the opportunities our campus has to offer. Your Western experience is what you make it. Meeting new people and hearing new ideas gives me better insight on what students want. So come say hello, my office is always open.
