Jake Lunden for VP of Legislative & Governmental Affairs
My name is Jake Lunden, and I hope to be your next VP for Legislative and Governmental Affairs. I study political science, public relations and Spanish. I’m active in the AS, serving on the Activities Council, Diversity Task Force and have experience lobbying our legislators in Olympia. I’m also a member of WWU Democrats. Rising tuition coupled with not nearly enough financial aid make life tougher for students, and we need to change that. In this vital election year I’ll launch a massive voter registration drive, work to increase civic engagement at Western and lobby state and federal legislators to pass laws to increase Western’s funding, allocate more financial aid, and reform student loans and FAFSA eligibility to benefit more students.
